Birmingham vs Norwich match preview

Birmingham won last time to break a 3 game losing streak and Norwich have won their last 3 in a row. The meeting earlier in the season was won 1-0 by Norwich with 6 Norwich corners, 3 Birmingham corners, 1 Norwich yellow card and 3 Birmingham yellow cards. Goals looks risky as Norwich have proven to be very good defensively all season and have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 7 games. Birmingham have failed to score in 7 of their last 11 games. The issue with backing goals is that whilst Norwich have been winning games they are not prolific in front of goal. They have only scored more than 2 goals in 3 out of 31 games this season. So the best bet there would seem to be Norwich to win 1-0 or 2-0. Corners looks a risky bet as Birmingham have given away 2 or less corners in 3 of their last 7 games and Norwich have only had 20 corners in their last 6 games. Cards look like a good bet but there is an element of doubt due to Norwich being inconsistent with number of bookings they receive. In Norwich last 13 games they have ended up with no bookings in 7 of those and had 2 bookings in 2 games, 3 bookings in 2 games and a red card in another game. Birmingham have had 2 or more cards in 7 of their last 8 games. So if backing bookings it looks sensible to back total match cards rather than both teams to have players carded, as Birmingham are consistent and Norwich could end up with a couple as well, but if this is a game where Norwich end up with no cards then you still have a chance that Birmingham could cover the bet on their own. So we expect a low scoring game that Norwich will likely win 1-0 or 2-0 and cards looks a better bet than corners. Though if backing cards you should back total match cards rather than both teams.

Derby vs Huddersfield match preview

Derby have won 5 and lost 2 of their last 7 games whilst Huddersfield won last time out to snap an 8 game winless runs. When these sides met earlier in the season it ended 1-0 to Huddersfield with 6 Huddersfield corners, 5 Derby corners,1 Huddersfield yellow card and 3 Derby yellow cards. Huddersfield have conceded at least 1 goal in all of their last 11 games and have scored in all of their last 6 games and they scored 4 against Swansea in their last game. Derby’s goal scoring and conceding records are both very inconsistent. In their last 7 games they have kept 3 clean sheets in the first 3 of those 7 games, then they have conceded 7 goals in the last 4 games. In their last 14 games Derby have failed to score 6 times and have scored 2 or more goals in 4 of those games. So goals doesn’t look a bad bet but if you are backing goals there is an element of doubt around Derby and their inconsistencies. Corners looks risky due to both teams being inconsistent in the number of corners they get per game. In recent matches both teams have had double figure corner counts on their own, but both teams have also had games where they finishing with 2 or less corners. Bookings looks a good bet as Derby have been given 2 or more yellow cards in all of their last 4 games and Derby’s opponents have been given at least 1 booking in all of their last 8 games ,and 2 or more bookings in 4 of those games. Huddersfield in their last 10 games have finished with no yellow cards twice but have had 2 or more cards given to them in 5 of those games. So whilst there is an element of doubt around Huddersfield they have had 9 yellow cards given to them in their last 4 games. Add this to the fact that Huddersfield opponents have had at least 1 booking in all of their last 18 games and bookings look likely. In a game where goals and the result is tough to call the safest bet looks to be bookings with it highly likely the game will see at least 3 bookings and both teams should contribute.

Middlesbrough vs Bristol City match preview

Middlesbrough have now won their last 2 after they went 5 games without a win before that. Bristol City have now lost all of their last 6 games and 11 of their last 14. Goals looks very risky as Bristol City have failed to score in 6 of their last 8 and 10 of their last 16 games. Middlesbrough have failed to score in 3 of their last 7 games and have kept 2 clean sheets in their last 5 games. Middlesbrough have had 64 corners in their last 10 games whilst Bristol City have had no corners in 3 of their last 7 games and in those 7 games they have had just 13 corners. Middlesbrough average 2 corners a game more than Bristol City and giveaway an average of 2 corners less per game than Bristol City. So it looks highly likely that Middlesbrough will have the most corners. Middlesbrough have had at least 1 player carded in 17 of their last 18 games and Bristol City have been given 11 yellow cards in their last 4 games. So it looks likely that both teams will see a player booked and the game will have at least 3 cards. So Middlesbrough to have the most corners looks the best bet but there may also be profit to be had betting on bookings.

Games with 10+ booking points for them – 23 games

Games with 30+ match booking points – 17 games

Luton vs Millwall match preview

Luton have now lost 4 of their last 6 games and Millwall are unbeaten in their last 8, winning 3 and drawing 5. Goals is a risky bet as Millwall have failed to score in 3 of their last 7 and have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 8 games. Luton have failed to score in 10 of their last 17 games and have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 14 games. There is no standout bet in this game. Cards probably looks the best bet as it looks likely that both teams will get at least 1 player booked and the game should see at least 3 cards, but this bet is not a banker and on the whole this is not a game that we would advise betting on.

Rotherham vs Nottingham Forest match preview

Rotherham have lost their last 3 games whilst Forest have won 3 and lost 2 of their last 5 games. Goals is a bet to avoid as Forest have failed to score in 3 of their last 6 and have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 4 games. Rotherham have failed to score in their last 2 matches so this game does not look like one for many goals. Corners looks a good bet as Rotherham have had 36 corners in their last 6 games and have given away 5 or more corners in 8 of their last 9 games. Forest’s last game they only had 2 corners, it was the first time in 11 games that they failed to have at least 3 corners and they have had 3 or more corners in 28 of their 3q league games this season. Rotherham have been given 2 or more yellow cards in 12 of their last 17 games and they are consistently on the high end of cards, but anyone backing cards should back total match cards rather than both teams to have a player or two booked. As Rotherham opponents have finished with no bookings in all of their last 3 games and 5 of their last 8. So goals is hard to call as the stats don’t say this will be a high scoring game, both teams to have 3 or more corners looks a good bet and so does booking points but you should back total match cards rather than both teams as Rotherham could easily cover the bet on their own should Forest not get any cards

Wycombe vs Reading match preview

Wycombe have lost 5, won 1 and drawn 2 of their last 8 games whilst Reading have lost 3 and won 1 of their last 4. The meeting earlier this season finished 1-0 to Reading with 2 Reading and 1 Wycombe corner and 2 Reading yellow cards. Reading have failed to score in 3 of their last 7 and Wycombe have failed to score in 4 of their last 6 games. Goals and corners both look too risky to back. Bookings looks the only possible bet but there are also risks attached to that. Reading have ended the game with no bookings in 3 of their last 7 games and Wycombe opponents have also finished with no bookings in 3 of their last 7 games. If betting on bookings we believe total match bookings is the best way as both teams could cover it on their own. This is not a great game from a betting angle and whilst bookings does not look a bad bet, we do believe this is not a game to get heavily involved in
