Cardiff vs Derby match preview

Cardiff are unbeaten in their last 9 and have won 6 of them. Derby have won 7 of their last 9 games . When these 2 met earlier in the season it was a 1-1 draw with 5 Derby corners, 3 Cardiff corners and 3 yellow cards for each team. Goals looks a good bet in this one. In their last 9 games Cardiff have scored 19 goals and they scored 2 or more goals in 7 of those games. Derby have scored in all of their last 5 games and scored 2 or more goals in 3 of those. Derby have conceded at least 1 goal in 4 of their last 5 games and Cardiff have conceded in 14 of their last 17 games. So it looks likely that both teams will score and the game will see at least 3 goals. Corners looks risky, Derby have had exactly 3 corners in 4 if their last 5 games, which whilst it may cover part of a bet it would not be a confident selection. Cardiff have finished with just 1 or no corners in 3 of their last 5 games. Cardiff have been given 13 yellow cards in their last 5 games and Derby have been given at least 1 card in all of their last 8 games. So the best bet here looks to be goals and there is also a good chance both teams get at least 1 player carded.

Coventry vs Middlesbrough match preview

Coventry have lost 4, drawn 3 and won 1 of their last 8 whilst Borough have won 2, lost 5 and drawn 2 of their last 9. When the sides met earlier in the season Borough won 2-0 with 1 Borough corner, 2 Coventry corners, 2 Borough yellow cards and 1 Coventry yellow card. Two inconsistent teams who have found winning games hard of late. Number of goals is hard to predict as Coventry have failed to score in 3 of their last 6, Borough have scored in all of their last 6 games but have only scored 10 goals in their last 11 games so they are hardly prolific goal scorers. There looks to be a good chance that the corner count could push towards double digits. Middlesbrough average 6.75 corners a game over their last 12 games and whilst Coventry are not as high on the averages they are quite consistent and can usually be relied on to contribute at least 3 or 4 corners. If playing corners we believe total match corners is the bet, as Coventry sometimes do end up on the low side of corners, but Borough have had 7 or more corners on their own in 7 of their last 12 games and they have had 6 corners or more in 10 of those 12 games. So if Coventry do have a game where they are on the low side there is still a chance that Middlesbrough will cover the majority of the bet on their own. Neither side are on the higher end of booking points and whilst there looks an above average chance that both teams will get a player booked, we do not believe the stats are strong enough to back that with high confidence. So if playing this game it looks as though corners is the best bet as the game is likely to see at least 8 corners and could easily push into double figures.

Huddersfield vs Birmingham match preview

Huddersfield have lost 4 of their last 5 whilst Birmingham have lost 5 of their last 6. Birmingham won the first meeting between these two 2-1 with 2 Birmingham corners, 4 Huddersfield corners, 2 Birmingham yellow cards and 1 Huddersfield yellow. The result and goals look impossible to back with any level of confidence. Birmingham have failed to score in 7 of their last 13 games whilst Huddersfield have failed to score in their last 2. Huddersfield average 6.62 corners per game in their last 8 games and Birmingham have had at least 4 corners in 10 of their last 11 games. Birmingham have been given 21 yellow cards in their last 10 games and Huddersfield have been given 13 yellow cards in their last 6 games. The best bet here is 3+ corners each team and 10+ booking points each team which looks to have a very good chance.

Millwall vs Preston match preview

Millwall lost last time to break a 9 game unbeaten run. Preston have won 2, lost 2 and drawn 1 of their last 5 games. When these two sides met earlier in the season it ended 2-0 to Millwall with 2 Preston corners, 7 Millwall corners and 2 Preston yellow cards. Goals looks very risky. Preston have failed to score in 3 of their last 4 and have kept clean sheets in their last 2 games. Millwall have scored in 5 of their last 6 but they have only scored more than 2 goals once this season and average less than a goal a game. Corners looks better than goal but is also risky due to Millwall being inconsistent in the number of corners they get per game as in 2 of their last 4 games they finished with just 2 corners. Cards is risky as Preston have finished with no cards in 3 of their last 4 games. This is not a game where we would recommend a bet as we believe there is too much risk on all potential betting angles.

Nottingham Forest vs Luton match preview

Forest are unbeaten in their last 3 games, winning 2 and drawing 1. Luton have won 2, lost 2 and drawn 1 of their last 5 games. The meeting earlier in the season ended 1-1 with 5 Luton corners, 2 Forest corners, 3 Luton yellow cards and 1 Forest Red card. Luton have failed to score in 10 of their last 19 games and although forest have scored in their last 3 games they have failed to score in 9 of their last 19 games. Also Forest have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 8 games so for those reasons we think it is smart to avoid goals. Luton are inconsistent with corners as in their last 4 games they have finished with 9, 2, 1 and 7 corners. Forest are more consistent but are still not a side who rack up big corner numbers and they have only given away 7 corners in their last 3 games, so corners also looks too risky to back. The only potential bet is cards but there are also risks attached here. As Forest have finished with no cards in 3 if their last 7 games and Luton only average 1 card a game over their last 21 games. So for these reasons we feel this is a game to avoid betting on.

Reading vs Blackburn match preview

Reading have won 2 and lost 4 of their last 6 games whilst Blackburn drew last time after they lost 5 in a row before that. Earlier in the season when these sides met it ended 4-2 to Reading with 3 corners for each side and 2 yellow cards for each team. Blackburn have conceded at least 1 goal in all of their last 6 games and they have conceded 10 goals in those 6 games. Reading have a very patchy goal record at both ends. Reading have kept 6 clean sheets in their last 12 games and have failed to score in 5 of their last 12 games. Goals is a difficult bet as even though there were 6 goals when these sides last met the stats point to goals being very hard to predict in this one. For that reason we believe the smart thing to do is avoid goals as the risk involved will likely outweigh the short odds offered on this game having both teams to score and seeing at least 3 goals. The last 8 Reading games have seen 99 corners, 49 for them and 50 for their opponents in those games. Whilst Blackburn don’t hit the high corner numbers as consistently as Reading do they are still relatively consistent and average just under 5 corners a game on the season. So it looks likely that both teams will see at least 3 corners and the match could reach double figures. Total match corners looks the safer play here as if Blackburn do have a low corner count there is a chance Reading could do most of the work on their own and cover the bet. Cards look risky as Blackburn have been given 1 yellow in all of their last 4 games and their opponents have finished with no cards in their last 2 games.  Reading are very inconsistent with cards as they have failed to get any cards in 5 of their last 12 games, though in 3 of their last 4 games they have been given 2 cards or more. With goals and cards both looking too risky the standout bet here looks to be corners with it highly likely the game will see at least 8 and can likely push towards double figures.
