Nottingham Forest vs Norwich match preview

Nottingham have not won in their last 4 games, drawing 2 and losing 2. Norwich have won their last 8 in a row and an immediate return to the Premier League now looks inevitable. Norwich won the reverse fixture 2-1 with 7 corners for each team, 4 Norwich yellow cards and 1 Nottingham Forest yellow card. Norwich have scored 18 goals in this 8 game winning run they are on and they have kept 5 clean sheets conceding just 3 goals in those 8 games. Nottingham Forest have scored just 4 goals in their last 8 games and they have failed to score at all in 4 of those games. Norwich to win is the bet that jumps put straight away, though we don’t see this being a big win. Nottingham Forest have only conceded 11 goals in their last 18 games (an average of 0.61 goals per game) and they have proven themselves to be tough to beat at times as they have only lost 4 of their last 18 games. Forest cannot be relied on to score but we see a strong possibility this game ends 0-0 or 1-0 to Norwich. Corners look a good bet in this one as the stats suggest a strong chance that both teams will have at least 3 corners. Norwich have ended the game with no cards in 8 of their last 19 games and Forest have ended with no cards in 4 of their last 9 so bookings carries some risk. So we expect a game with not many goals and believe the likeliest results is a low scoring win for Norwich either 1-0 or 2-0. Though if you don’t want to back the result then corners also look a good bet with a very high chance that both teams have at least 3 corners.

QPR vs Millwall match preview

QPR have won 2 and lost 3 of their last 5 games whilst Millwall have won 2, lost 2 and drawn 1 of their last 5 games. It ended 1-1 when these sides met earlier in the season with 2 corners for each team and 3 QPR yellow cards. It’s not a game where goals look overly risky but neither side are prolific goal scorers and as both average around 1 goal per game this season we feel it’s worth leaving goals in this one. Millwall average just 2.71 corners a game in their last 7 games and QPR only average 3.85 corners per game in their last 7 games, so on current form we think corners is also an angle to avoid. Millwall have been given at least 1 card in all of their last 10 games and in the last 22 QPR games they have been given at least 1 card in 21 of those games and average 2.13 yellow cards per game in those 22 games. So bookings looks the best bet in this game with it highly likely both teams pick up at least 1 card and the game will see at least 3 bookings.

Wycombe vs Barnsley match preview

Wycombe won last time to break a 4 game losing run and Barnsley are on an 11 game unbeaten streak, winning 8 and drawing 3. Barnsley won the reverse fixture 2-1 with 7 Barnsley corners, 5 Wycombe corners and 3 yellow cards for each team. Barnsley have scored 2 or more goals in 6 of their last 9 games and Wycombe have conceded 2 or more goals in 9 of their last 14 games. Wycombe have actually conceded 2 or more goals in 19 of their 36 league games played this season and Barnsley have scored 2 or more goals in 18 out of their 366 league games played this season. So there looks to be a good chance that Barnsley will extend their winning streak and could easily score a couple of goals in this one. Barnsley average 5.90 corners a game in their last 10 games and Wycombe average 5.4 corners a game in their last 5 games. Though it is worth noting that Wycombe have seen a rise in number of corners they have in recent games and if you look at their 10 game average they average 3.9 corners per game. 2 of the last 4 Wycombe games have finished with no cards for either team. Barnsley have been given an average of 1.70 yellow cards per game in their last 10 games and they were given 2 cards or more in 6 of those games. Even though Wycombe have seen no cards in 2 of their last 4 games they still average 1.80 yellow cards a game in their last 10 games. So it looks highly likely that both teams see at least 1 card and the game will have 3 bookings at least. We expect Barnsley to win and there is a very good chance they will score at least 2 goals, and bookings also look a good bet.

Birmingham vs Reading match preview

Birmingham have lost 6 of their last 9 games and Reading are unbeaten in their last 4, winning 3 and drawing 1. Birmingham won 2-1 when the sides met earlier this season with 4 Reading corners, 1 Birmingham corner, 1 Reading yellow card, 3 Birmingham yellow cards and 1 Birmingham Red card. Reading have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 4 games and have scored at least 1 goal in all of those 4 games. Birmingham have failed to score in their last 2 games and have conceded at least 1 goal in all of their last 5 games. Looking at the season stats neither side are at the high end of the goal averages or at the high end of games that see both teams score or over 2.5 goals, so we feel goals is a bet to avoid. The best bet in this game looks to be cards. Birmingham have been given at least 1 card in all of their last 14 games and in those 14 games they average 2.07 yellow cards per game. Birmingham opponents have been given 2 yellow cards in each of the last 5 Birmingham games. The last 2 Reading games have finished with just 1 yellow card in each game, though the 5 Reading games before that saw 22 yellow cards with 8 for Reading and 14 for their opponents. So cards looks the best bet though it is likely that Birmingham will pick up more cards than Reading.

Blackburn vs Bristol City horse profile

Both sides have lost 7 of their last 10 games. Bristol City won the reverse fixture 1-0 with 5 Bristol City corners, 8 Blackburn corners and 1 Bristol City yellow card. Bristol City have not drawn any of their last 23 games, winning 8 and losing 15. Bristol City kept a clean in their last game but that was their first clean sheet in the last 12 games, and they have conceded an average of 1.80 goals per game in their last 13 games. Bristol City have scored 10 goals in their last 4 games. Blackburn have conceded at least 1 goal in 9 of their last 10 games and have scored at least 1 goal in 12 of their last 16 games. Goals don’t look a bad bet in this one but the fact it finished with just 1 goal when these sides last met and Blackburn have failed to score in 2 of their last 4 is slightly off putting and is enough for us to leave goals alone. Blackburn have finished with just 2 corners in 4 of their last 8 games and Bristol City have been at the low end of the corner averages all season so corners is another angle to avoid. Blackburn have been given at least 1 card in all of their last 8 games and average 2 yellow cards a game in those 8 games. Bristol City have been given at least 1 card in 8 of their last 9 games and average 2.11 yellow cards a game in those 9 games. So the best bet here is cards with it looking extremely likely that both teams pick up at least 1 card each and the game will have at least 3 cards.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Huddersfield match preview

Sheffield Wednesday have lost their last 7 games and Huddersfield have lost 4, won 2 and drawn 2 of their last 8 games. Huddersfield won 2-0 when these sides met earlier in the season with 2 Huddersfield corners, 8 Sheffield Wednesday corners, 1 Huddersfield yellow card and 3 Sheffield Wednesday yellow cards.  Huddersfield have failed to score in 3 of their last 5 and have kept clean sheets in their last 2 games. Sheffield Wednesday have failed to score in 4 of their last 7 games and have conceded 13 goals in their last 5 games, conceded 2 goals twice and 3 goals in 3 of those games. Sheffield Wednesday are in terrible form and usually you would look at their opponents to score a few goals as a good bet. The issue is Huddersfield only average 1.11 goals per game this season and in their last 19 games they have only scored more than 1 goal 4 times. You can’t look at Huddersfield to win as a strong bet either as Huddersfield have only won 2 of their last 14 games. So goals and the result are bets to avoid.  The season stats don’t point to any banker bets and current form doesn’t give us much either. Sheffield Wednesday only average 0.87 yellow cards per game in their last 8 games and Huddersfield have not been given any yellow cards in their last 2 games. Corners looks the best option as Huddersfield average 6.40 corners a game in their last 5 games and Sheffield Wednesday average 5.5 corners a game in their last 8 games. So on recent form it doesn’t look a bad bet that both teams will have 3 or more corners, and whilst that’s not a banker from the stats it appears to be the best potential bet.
