Cheltenham vs Barrow match preview

Cheltenham have won 8 of their last 11 games, losing 2 and drawing 1. Barrow have won their last 2 though have lost 7 of their last 11 games. The reverse fixture was won 3-0 by Barrow with 4 corners for each team, 1 Barrow yellow card and 3 Cheltenham yellow cards. Even though they’ve won their last 2 Barrow have only scored 7 goals in their last 11 Games and they failed to score in 5 of those games. Cheltenham have scored 9 goals in their last 6 games and have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 6 games. The number of goals looks risky to call but Cheltenham will be fancied to get the win in this. Though as Cheltenham have only lost 1 of their last 15 games and Barrow have only won 6 of their last 22 games it does look like Cheltenham or draw could be a good leg of an acca if you are looking for a short odds confident selection to boost a multiple. Barrow have finished with no corners in 2 of their last 3 games and Cheltenham average just 3.60 corners per game in their last 10 games, so we are happy to leave corners in this one. All season Barrow games have usually meant bookings, but they are playing a Cheltenham side who are usually on the low end of the booking points. Cheltenham have finished with no cards in 3 of their last 4 games and their opponents have finished with no cards in 3 of their last 5 games. So with bookings and corners both having doubt the best angle for this game is to back Cheltenham or draw (Cheltenham not to lose) as part your acca to boost the odds.

Crawley vs Walsall match preview

Crawley have won their last 3 all by 1-0 score lines. Walsall have lost their last 2 both by 1-0 score lines and have lost 4 of their last 5 games. Walsall won 1-0 when these sides met earlier in the season with 4 Walsall corners, 10 Crawley corners, 2 Walsall yellow cards and 1 Crawley yellow card. Goals are impossible to back with any real confidence as Walsall have scored an average of just 0.71 goals per game in their last 14 games and Whilst Crawley are more consistent with scoring goals they have only scored more than 2 goals in 4 games this season and they have scored just 1 goal or no goals in 11 of their last 12 games. Add this to the fact Crawley have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 7 games and it makes it a tough game to count on there being 2 or 3 goals. The season stats suggest a good chance both sides will have 3 or more corners but both sides have seen their averages on corners drop in recent games. Crawley average just 3.2 corners a game in their last 5 games and Walsall average just 3.55 corners a game in their last 9 games. Crawley have finished with no cards in 2 of their last 4 games and Walsall only average 1.48 yellow cards a game this season. So whilst it would be no surprise to see both teams pick up a card, there is enough doubt for us to say this is a game that we would leave and not recommend a bet.

Mansfield vs Carlisle

Mansfield vs Carlisle match preview

Mansfield have lost 6 and won 2 of their last 8 whilst Carlisle have lost 6 , drawn 2 and won 1 of their last 9 games. The reverse fixture was won 1-0 by Carlisle with 11 Carlisle corners, 6 Mansfield corners, 5 Carlisle yellow cards and 1 Mansfield yellow card. Carlisle have scored at least 1 goal in all of their last 7 games and have conceded at least 1 goal in all of their last 9 games. Mansfield have failed to score in 5 of their last 7 games and have conceded at least 1 goal in 9 of their last 10 games. Goals is a difficult one here as both teams have scored in the last 7 Carlisle games but Mansfield have been struggling to score of late. It is tough but with the fact that the last time these sides played it finished 1-0 we will have to say goals is an angle to leave alone on this one. The best bet in this game is both teams to have 3 or more corners. Carlisle have had at least 3 corners in 29 of their 31 league games this season and have also given away at least 3 corners in 29 of those 31 games. Mansfield have had at least 3 corners in 29 of their 34 league games and gave away at least 3 corners in 26 of those 34 games. Mansfield average 6.45 corners a game in their last 11 games and Carlisle average 6.5 corners a game in their last 6 games. Bookings is not a bad bet and it would be no surprise to see both teams pick up a card each, but the corners angle is quite strong so we will take that as the best bet and leave bookings alone in this game.

Port Vale vs Newport

Port Vale vs Newport match preview

Port Vale are winless in their last 8, losing 5 and drawing 3, whilst Newport have won 3 in a row. The reverse fixture ended 1-0 to Newport with 8 Newport corners, 4 Port Vale corners, 2 yellow cards for each team and 1 Port Vale red card.  Newport have scored 7 goals in their last 3 games and have kept 3 cleans sheets in their last 6 games. Port Vale have failed to score in 5 of their last 6 games and have kept 2 clean sheets in their last 6 games. Whilst Newport have found some goal scoring form in their last 3 games they have still failed to score in 4 of their last 9 games and only average 1 goal a game in those 9 games. So goals is a bet to avoid in this one. Newport only average 2.5 corners a game in their last 4 games and Port Vale only average 3.66 corners a game in their last 6 games, so neither side has been racking up the corners in recent games so that is another angle to avoid. Neither side is at the high end of the booking averages over this season and Newport have finished with no cards in 5 of their last 9 games. So this is not a game where we would recommend a bet.

Salford vs Colchester

Salford stats and averages

Goals scored – 1.24 goals per game

Goals conceded – 0.81 goals per game

Salford vs Colchester match preview

Colchester have lost 5 of their last 7 games and Salford have lost 2, drawn 2 and won 1 of their last 5 games. Colchester have failed to score in 11 of their last 15 games and Salford have failed to score in 2 of their last 4 games. So goals is a bet to avoid as it is a bet that would heavily rely on Salford and they have only scored more than 1 goal in 2 of their last 14 games. The season stats point to a good chance that both teams will have at least 3 corners and both will see at least 1 card. Salford average 5.16 corners a game in their last 12 games and Colchester have had at least 3 corners in all of their last 18 games. Salford average 2.42 yellow cards per game in their last 7 games and Salford opponents have been given an average of 2.14 yellow cards per game in the last 7 Salford games. Colchester have been given at least 1 card in 30 of their 34 league games played this season. So the best bet in this game is both teams to have at least 3 corners and both teams to have at least 1 player carded.

Scunthorpe vs Oldham

Scunthorpe vs Oldham match preview

Scunthorpe have failed to win in their last 3 games and Oldham have failed to win in their last 4 games. The reverse fixture was won 2-0 by Scunthorpe with 6 Oldham corners, 9 Scunthorpe corners and 1 yellow card for each team. Oldham have failed to score in 3 of their last 4 and have kept 2 clean sheets in their last 3 games. Scunthorpe have failed to score in 3 of their last 6 games and have conceded at least 1 goal in 6 of their last 7 games. We advise avoiding goals as both teams have struggled in front of goal in recent games. Scunthorpe have had 2 corners or less in 5 of their last 9 games and Oldham have had 2 corners or less in 2 of their last 3 games, though those are the only 2 Oldham games this season where they have failed to have 3 corners. However on current form we think corners is also worth avoiding. Oldham have finished with no cards in 2 of their last 3 games and Scunthorpe have finished with no cards in 3 of their last 5 games so bookings looks an angle to avoid as well. So with all these stats taken into account this is a game where we would not advise a bet.
