A new flat horse racing initiative was announced earlier this year in a new racing league system. Each team will consist of 2-4 trainers, 3 jockeys and 30 horses. There will be 12 teams, and each team will enter 1 horse in each of the 36 races that make up the league. Points are awarded all the way down to the 10th placed horse in each race, with the winner taking 25 points, 2nd place will take 18 points and 3rd place 15 points.
The races will be 0-90 handicap races over 5F to 1M 4F and each race will be worth £50,000 with a total of £1.8M up for grabs in prize money. The competition will be held over 6 weeks, with the first meeting in July 2021.
More information will be announced across the coming weeks.
