West Brom vs Newcastle match preview

West Brom have drawn 2, lost 1 and won 1 in their last 4 games whilst Newcastle have lost their last 3 in a row and have lost 9 of their last 11 games. When these sides met earlier in the season Newcastle won 2-1 with 4 Newcastle corners, 3 West Brom corners, 2 Newcastle yellow cards and 3 West Brom yellow cards. Newcastle have scored in 6 of their last 7 games but have conceded in 10 of their last 11 games and they conceded 2 or more goals in 8 of those 11 games. West Brom have failed to score in 4 of their last 7 and despite keeping 2 recent clean sheets they have still conceded at least 1 goal in 15 of their last 17 games. Newcastle games have tended to have goals lately which is clear by the fact that even though they are scoring goals they are still losing games. The issue is that West Brom cannot be relied on to score as there are far too inconsistent in front of goal. Newcastle are not exactly prolific in terms of goals with the doubt involved we believe goals and the result are both bets to avoid. West Brom are on the low end of the corner averages and in their last 15 league games they average just 2.6 corners a game. Newcastle are more consistent and whilst they have the odd game where they end up with a low corner count they have proven they can rack up a decent amount of corners in recent games when they had 9 against Leeds and Crystal Palace plus 12 against Everton. With that being said total match corners is still a risk and the smart bet looks to be Newcastle to have the most corners as even if they are on a low day they may only need 3 or 4 corners to win the bet. Newcastle have had 15 yellow cards in their last 8 games and they were given 2 or more yellow cards in 5 of those games. In West Broms last 5 games their yellow card total has been 2,5,0,0,3 and in one of the games where they were given 0 yellow cards they were given a red card. On the season as  a whole West Brom have been pretty consistent with cards and usually see at least 1 yellow a game, so there is a high chance that both teams will see at least 1 card and the game will see at least 3 cards. Though with that being said Newcastle to have the most corners looks the best bet.

Liverpool vs Fulham match preview

Fulham have drawn 3, won 2 and lost 1 of their last 6 games whilst Liverpool have lost 5 of their last 6 with their only win in those 6 games coming against struggling Sheffield United. The first meeting between these sides earlier in the season ended in a 1-1 draw with 8 Liverpool corners, 6 Fulham corners, 1 Liverpool yellow card and 3 Fulham yellow cards. Liverpool have e been in terrible form of late and have lost their last 4 home games. Liverpool have also failed to score in 7 of their last 12 league games and have conceded at least 1 goal in 8 of their last 9 games. Allot of people will be looking at Liverpool to win this game and there is no doubting the bookies have taken a bit of a chance with Liverpool priced up at at around 4/9 with some bookmakers. There will be people looking at this with two different views and they are that you have the chance to back Liverpool at home against a Fulham side who are in 18th position and make nearly 50% profit on your stake. Other people will look at this and say its impossible to back  Liverpool side who are in this kind of form against a Fulham side who although they are in 18th have only lost 4 of their last 16 games. There is no doubt Fulham will be compact and won’t make it easy for Liverpool as even in those 4 games they lost Fulham never had more than 2 goals put past them and those 4 games were against Chelsea, Man United, Leicester and Spurs. The issue is Fulham have not been winning games, and this is a Liverpool team who even though out of form have any number of players available who can find that 1 bit of skill or magic that can undo any good defensive work Fulham have done. Whatever side you are on it looks a fascinating game if cat and mouse with backers and layers as both sides know the risks involved with the bets they are taking. Corners and cards both look risky as Liverpool will surely control possession and territory for long periods so any bet on corners will be heavily reliant on them. Liverpool last 2 games have finished with no cards what so ever. We would not be surprised if this game took a similar shape to the Liverpool vs Sheffield United game recently. Liverpool although not at their best were able to contain Sheffield United and create chances to score 2 goals and almost limp across the finish line even though they are obviously not themselves right now. We believe this could be a similar story as the Liverpool players will be desperate to end this history making losing home run and they won’t get many better opportunities to do it. So the real bets here look to be on the straight result as anyone wanting to back Liverpool has a decent price to do so given the fact that before this season if you asked for odds on Liverpool to beat Fulham at home you would have been looking at a likely 1/5 on shot minimum. Though it is tough to shake off the form Liverpool are in and whilst we don’t think backing Fulham to win is a good idea we can see merit in why some people believe this will be a draw. Given that it’s unlikely Fulham will be able to kill Liverpool off we would lean towards the side of backing Liverpool to win as there is a very good chance that 2 or maybe even just 1 goal will be enough for them to get the win.

Man City vs Man United match preview

City have now won their last 15 games whilst United are unbeaten in their last 7 but have drawn 5 of those 7 games. The meeting between these sides earlier  in the season ended 0-0 with 4 United corners, 3 City corners and 1 yellow card for each team. City are already well on their way to the title but another win here could be the final nail in the coffin of the hopeless looking task that United have on their hands to pick up their local rivals. United last 2 games have finished 0-0 and City have kept 13 clean sheets in their last 19 games. Goals and the result look hard to back as we have already seen these 2 play out a pretty boring draw and 3 of Man United other recent games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all looked top quality games on paper and then ended up boring 0-0 draws. United are averaging 5.88 corners a game in their last 9 games and City average 7.31 corners per game in their last 16 league games. It is worth noting that Man City games tend to lead to lower corner counts than usual, as when they take on better teams if anything they are more careful with possession and can take up large chunks of time passing the ball around trying to get the other team to open up. We have already seen this multiple times this year as the first time they played Liverpool there were just 3 corners in the game, the 2nd game vs Liverpool had 7, a recent game against Spurs had just 6 and when they played Arsenal just 3 games back there were only 4 corners in the game. You compare these numbers to the fact the City average nearly 7 corners a game in their own through the whole season, and you see how these games against the bigger teams have a trend to result in less corners that usual. Cards looks risky as City only average 1 card a game in their last 7 games and just 0.58 cards a game over their last 12 games. United have finished with no cards in 2 of their last 4 games. These Derby matches are not what they used to be and especially with no crowd it would be no surprise if this finished with a lower number of cards than people would expect when they see it’s the Manchester Derby. Hopefully we are in store for a cracking game it is just too difficult to commit to any betting angle with full confidence. This is the type of game where it may be worth backing some bigger odds smaller stake bets, as we don’t believe this is a game to get heavily stuck into due to the anything could happen nature it presents, though that anything could happen aspect is part of the reason we believe backing some bigger odds bets with smaller stakes is the way to go. So in conclusion we believe this is a game to keep your risk low and your reward high with your bets.

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace match preview

Spurs have lost 5 and won 3 of their last 8 games whilst Palace are unbeaten in their last 3 with 2 draws and a win though did lose 2 games in a row before this mini unbeaten run. It ended 1-1 when these sides met earlier in the season with 4 Palace corners, 7 Spurs corners and 1 yellow card for each team. Palace last 2 games have finished 0-0 and they have no failed to score in 4 of their last 5 games. Spurs have failed to score in 3 of their last 7 though have now scored 5 in their last 2 after they put 4 past Burnley and then beat Fulham 1-0 last time out. Goals looks tough to call as Palace are struggling to score but have kept 2 clean sheets in their last 2 games, and 2 of their most recent clean sheets came against Man United last time out and Arsenal a few weeks back, so they have proven they can frustrate the bigger sides. Palace average just 2.33 corners a game in their last 9 games and Spurs average 3.25 corners a game in their last 8 games. So with 2 teams both so low in the corner averages right now it is worth avoiding corners all together. Spurs have been given 12 yellow cards in their last 8 games and Spurs opponents average 2.19 yellow cards per game in all Spurs league games this season. Palace add doubt to bookings as they have been inconsistent and have finished with no cards in 5 of their last 9 games. With an inconsistent Palace side and a Spurs team who still need to convince us that they have snapped this run of bad form we believe this is a game to avoid betting on.
