Sheffield United vs Spurs match preview

Sheffield United are coming off their first win of the season and play a Spurs side with only 1 win in their last 6. Number of goals and the match result looks risky to call, as Sheffield United will have some confidence for the first time this season and Spurs have been struggling to win games. There looks to be a high chance of each team having at least 3 corners. Though booking points may be the best route to follow. The last 6 Sheffield United games have all had both teams get a booking and 3 or more cards in the match, whilst 8 of the last 9 Spurs matches have had at least 1 booking for each team and 3 or more cards in the match.  So corners and cards looks the safest bet here.

Liverpool vs Man United match preview

Man United are unbeaten in 11 and have won 9 of those. They sit top of the League and visit Liverpool who are in somewhat of a slump. Winless in their last 3 and have scored just 1 goal. Whenever you get 2 teams who both score an average of over 2 goals per game you have to look at both teams to score as a very good bet, which it looks here. This game doesn’t actually scream corners and cards on the stats, though you have to wonder is this the type of game where you almost throw stats out the window. This has all the makings of a very entertaining game with 2 attacking teams who can struggle defensively and may both have more faith in outscoring their opponents, rather than stopping their opponents from scoring. It would be no surprise to see a high number of cards and lots of corners in an attacking open game, however the stats don’t point to that. This really is an anything can happen game, with goals looking very likely, and the make up of the teams and occasion meaning it would be no surprise to have cards and corners. However, strictly from a stats point of view, it may pay to back goals and both teams to score and sit back and enjoy what promises to be a great game.

Man City vs Crystal Palace match preview

City and unbeaten in their last 8, winning 6. Palace are unbeaten in their last 3  but only have 1 win in their last 7 league games. City have not been their usual free scoring selves this year, and whilst you would expect them to get the win, it may not be the type of selection you want to take long odds on about against a Palace team who have beaten Man United and drawn with Leicester, Spurs and Arsenal. Cards also looks a risky bet as City will have the majority of possession whilst Palace sit deep and play on the counter, so it may be quite a slow game where City look to break down a stubborn Palace side. Also as with all City games there is the potential they could run away with the game and blitz Palace with a few early goals and kill the game off before half  time. This can results in a low  number of cards as neither team sees the point of risking a 50/50 challenge or picking up a cheap  booking. Corners looks the best bet, City have had 5 or more corners in 12/16 games, Palace have given away 4 or more corners in 16/18 games this season. With City likely controlling possession and territory for long periods, it would be no surprise to see a high number of City corners.
