Sheffield United vs West Brom match preview

Sheffield United have now won 2 of their last 4 with good wins against Newcastle and Man United. West Brom have had positive results in 2 of their last 4 with a win against Wolves and a draw against Fulham. The meeting earlier this season was won 1-0 by West Brom with 14 West Brom and 9 Sheffield United corners, and 2 West Brom and 3 Sheffield United yellow cards. A really tough game to call with both teams already in big trouble, but whoever wins this will give themselves some hope, whilst whoever loses this game it will be a big blow to any slim chance of survival, especially for Sheffield United. Goals look very risky due to the 2 sides and the type of game this promises to be. Both teams are not on the high end of the corner averages  which is why their first meeting this season was a big surprise when it produced 23 corners. Whilst that high number looks almost impossible to be repeated we do believe there is a chance that there will likely be a decent number of bookings, as there was in the meeting earlier this season. Sheffield United have had 2 or more yellow cards in 8 of their last 9 games and 3 or more yellow cards in 5 of those games. West Brom have had at least 1 booking in 14 of their last 15 games. So bookings looks like the safest bet for this one

Wolves vs Arsenal match preview

Arsenal have won 5 of their last 7 and have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 6 games. Wolves are without a win in 8 losing 5 and drawing 3. The meeting earlier in the season was won 2-1 by Wolves with 4 Wolves and 8 Arsenal corners and 4 Wolves and 3 Arsenal Yellow cards. The meeting earlier this season was a thriller that had everything with goals, corners and cards. It is worth noting this is a very different Arsenal team to the one that Wolves beat back then. Maybe not in terms of the players but Mikel Arteta has managed to sure up a shaky Arsenal defence and has them playing well. Whilst Wolves have really struggled this season  to capture their best form. So goals may be risky with a struggling Wolves side and Arsenal now defending well. Corners and cards look the best options for this game. Wolves recently cost us by only having 1 corner away at Chelsea, though they went to Stamford Bridge with no intent to win that game and sat deep to play for a draw. We can’t imagine they will be so defensive today. So it looks likely both teams will have at least 3 corners, and the corners count could be pushing double figures. It is also likely both teams will see at least 1 player booked as Wolves have seen at least 1 card in their last 14 games, and 2 or more cards in 9 of those games. In Arsenal’s last 4 away games they have been given at least 2 cards in all 4 games. So Arsenal would have to be favourites to win on current form, though with doubts about goals it looks like corners and cards is the safest bet.

Man United vs Southampton match preview

Southampton have lost their last 3 and have failed to score in 5 of their last 7. Whilst Man United will be looking to bounce back after their 13 game unbeaten run was ended by Sheffield United before a goalless draw away at Arsenal last time. Man United have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 5 games. The meeting earlier in the season was won 3-2 by United, with 9 United and 5 Southampton corners and just 1 Southampton yellow card. Number of goals looks risky to call as the earlier meeting this season produced 5, but you now have a Saints side who have struggled in front of Goal of late and  United team who have looked better defensively as the season progresses. There is no standout bet looking at the stats. Both teams show inconsistencies in number of corners for them and given away. Booking points looks a good bet without being a banker. Man United have seen 12 yellow cards in their last 6 games and  Saints have seen 8 yellows in their last 5 games. Though the fact there was only 1 yellow card the last time these sides met is something to bear in mind. So a tricky game, United would be clear favourites and with Southampton  recent form in front of goal it may be worth backing United to win to nil, or you could ignore current form and back in a high scoring thriller like the first meeting between these 2 this season. Whatever you back we do feel this is a game to look for a bigger price bet to back, thrasher than going all in on a shorter odds selection

Newcastle vs Crystal Palace match preview

Crystal Palace won last time and have now won 2 of their last 5, with a draw against Arsenal in those 5 games which can also be considered a positive result. Palace have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 5 games and failed to score in 2 of their last 4. Newcastle got a big win last time to break a run of losing 5 games in a row. Newcastle have failed to score in 3 of their last 5 and have conceded 2 or more goals in 4 of their last 6. The meeting earlier in the season was won 2-0 by Newcastle with 3 Newcastle and 7 Palace corners and 2 yellow cards for each team. Goals and the result look almost impossible to predict so we recommend avoiding them. Corners also has risk, as Newcastle have seen 32 corners for them and their opponents in their last 2 games. Palace have had just 5 corners in their last 3 games and have not had more than 3 corners in any of their last 6 games. Booking points does not look a banker either, as 2 of the last 3 Palace games have finished with no yellow cards at all, so despite the fact that there has been 11 yellow cards in the last 2 Newcastle games, it still looks a risky bet to be taking a high number of bookings in this one. The safest bet in this one may be backing on not many goals, as it would be no surprise to see this finishing with just 1 or 2 goals at the most
